Thoroughbred Carpets is a family owned and operated business in Savage, MN.
We have been in business for over 35 years and pride ourselves in giving our customers the best selection of flooring while having a team of interior designers on staff, as well as the finest professional installers in the region.
We work with you – start to finish.
When your home is in need of a facelift, replace the flooring first.
Spring, one of the most popular times of year for home improvement, is just around the corner. Which project are you planning to get started on first? While many people would love to finally redo a bathroom, remodel the kitchen, or add on a porch, that may be out of your budget.
So what’s a homeowner to do? How about starting simple and replacing your flooring. It will make a world of difference to the look and feel of your home.
Whether you are interested in carpet, wood, laminate, luxury vinyl tile, planks, or rugs, there is a large showroom and warehouse in Savage where you can find your perfect flooring option. Thoroughbred Carpets is a family owned and operated business that has been around for 32 years. They pride themselves on giving customers the best selection of flooring, having qualified interior designers on staff, and the most professional installers.
“We are able to compete with the big ‘box stores’ because of the high volume we are able to do with the major manufacturers,” said company owner Alli Heise. “Our showroom features products from Shaw, Tuftex, Mohawk, Masland, Fabrica, Mannington, Kahrs, Kentwood, lvcus, among others. We can usually get almost any product out there if you make a selection someplace else and have the sample. We carry several commercial products for businesses as well.”
Thoroughbred Carpets can also make rugs out of any carpet you select from their inventory or showroom. Or they can make rugs with leftover carpet you may have on hand. However, the store does not carry pre-made rugs, ceramic tile or slate.
“We are one of the largest stocking retailers, which means we have several remnants and stock rolls in stock for a quick turnaround and at exceptional values,” added Heise. The remnants are perfect if you just need to replace a bedroom or smaller areas. No job is ever too big or too small.
In addition to offering a great selection of product, as an added bonus, it is one-stop shopping at Thoroughbred Flooring. The company works with its customers from start to finish on their projects. There are no “middle men” or trying to find an installer to do the work.
Once you come into the store and select your product, it is a very simple process. The designer you work with is able to get you all the information you need, without the hassle or wait time.
First, an on-site measure is scheduled. Then customers are provided with a quote (without the high pressure sales tactics). Lastly, product or products are ordered and the installation is scheduled.
“We know that any product, no matter what the price, is only as good as the installation. We only work with qualified and reliable installers, most of whom have been with our store for several years. Should a problem, arise, you don’t need to hunt down your installer. You simply call us and we deal with it directly,” said Heise.
A large part of Thoroughbred Flooring’s business is referral based; which is one of the reasons the company has stayed in business, even with a shaky economy at times. “We enjoy seeing our repeat customers over the years. It’s also nice to hear from our customers that the reason they came in is because their father, sister, cousin, neighbor or co-worker recommended our
company. We want to continue to hear the positive feedback,” said Heise, who added the company caters to homeowners, remodelers, builders, interior designers and business owners.
“We also work with several rental properties, commercial properties and realtors, especially those who are putting homes on the market and need a fresh look. If you have an installer (or are an installer), we can always sell you our quality products at wholesale prices. We are an exclusive Abbey dealer which allows us to buy products at a lower price, and then pass the savings on to you, our valued customer,” she said.
You can see the company’s work, showroom and warehouse on Facebook, Houzz, and also on their website, www.thoroughbredcarpets.com. “We would love for you to stop in today if you are looking for flooring, and hopefully Thoroughbred Carpets can become “your home’s best friend!” exclaimed Heise.
